Last 24 Hours: Air strikes on Lebanon-Syria border

Gunshots and explosions were heard Tuesday at another Bangkok protest site as Thailand continues to be strapped under violent political unrest. Local police say there were gunmen who attacked two protest areas in the capital city. Farm protesters are getting good news since a fraction of their pay by the government is on its way, but reminds it is not enough for a million farmers.

Israeli warplanes struck a target in eastern Lebanon, just near the Syrian border, on Monday of this week. It is unknown what the target was. The AP reports a local Lebanese state news agency said there were in fact two strikes. Israel’s prime minister refuses to confirm the nation put on air strikes.

Venezuela’s unrest continues and the death toll has risen to 13 Tuesday. National dialogue talks were planned Monday with the president and opposition members. One of the most well known opposition leaders Capriles didn’t attend. More talks are scheduled for Wednesday.

It was reported three Chadian soldiers were killed in Central African Republic violence. They were a part of a Monday death toll of 12. However, local CAR residents claim Chad troops are killing civilians as well. 

A United Nations proposal would enforce sanctions on those who threaten peace, security and stability in Yemen as peace efforts are ongoing in the long history of violence and instability.
